Question about thinning out birdhouse gourd plants?

I planted a lot of birdhouse gourd seeds and
only 4 came up.
Unfortunately, they are too close together.
They have only about 2-3″ between them.
They look healthy, about 5 leaves each,
and about 5″ tall.
Should I dig some up to thin out,
so the roots have room to grow?
Can I replant the ones I dug up in another spot
without them dying?
I would hate to loose any,
since all my others died
from a late frost.
Now it has been rather hot and dry where I live.
Any gardeners out there?

You can transplant them. to do it the best way have the soil fairly wet, move as much soil as you can with them, move them in the evening and water them in real well. If they get wilted looking you may have to give them shade them until they adjust.
